Grumblatt Nets 1,000 in Win Over AMCATS

NASHUA, NH: Rivier women's basketball took down Anna Maria College this afternoon in GNAC action in the Muldoon Center.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/21/23

- Score: Rivier 60, Anna Maria 39

- Records: Rivier (9-9, 6-4 GNAC), Anna Maria (3-11, 1-7 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  In a low-scoring affair, the Raiders were able to hold the AMCATS to 11 points in the first half. Rivier came out in the second half firing from behind the arc, netting four of their five three-point shots to start the third.

Bea Stafford (Saunderstown, RI) led the way for the Raiders, scoring 16 points along with ten rebounds. Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, NH) finished with 12 points along with, scoring her 1,000 points, breaking a GNAC record of fastest player to 1,000 points. She completed the feat in 44 games. The previous record, held by Rivier's Head Coach Deanna Purcell, was 46 games.

- For the AMCATS, Julitza Delgado topped the team with nine points, along with four rebounds. Arianna Saladini also contributed nine points in the effort.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Rebounds: Rivier 42, Anna Maria 40

-  Assists: Rivier 15, Anna Maria 8

-  Shooting Percentage: Rivier 37.3%, Anna Maria 26.9%
