Women's Basketball soars past Fisher, 83-62

(Lynn, Mass.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team received a 20-point performance from junior Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, N.H.) as they brought home an 83-62 non-conference victory over Fisher College this evening from the Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium. The Raiders now stand at 8-15 on the season while Fisher falls to 7-15.

Perry was the team leader in points as she continues her climb towards 1,000 career points while also collecting seven rebounds. Sophomore Alex Trevains (Litchfield, N.H.) provided help off the bench as she added 11 points and five rebounds. Juniors Rebecca DeBaldo (Pelham, N.H) and Caitlin Bulger (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in with 11 and 14 points, respectively. Classmate Savanna Butterfield (Londonderry, N.H.) also had a solid night in the win with seven points and eight rebounds. Senior Anjulisa Rhodes (Lawrence, Mass.) knocked down all three shot attempts on her way to seven points for Rivier.

Fisher was paced by efforts of Murphy Carroll and Sasha Coombs. Carroll scored the game high of 25 points with Coombs adding 16 of her own for the Falcons. Coombs also recorded the game's only double-double as she pulled down 12 rebounds in the loss.

Next up for Rivier will be a date at Norwich University on Saturday afternoon. The pivotal Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest will begin at 1pm with Tournament seeding on the line.
