Women's Basketball upended by Lasell, 78-66

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team was unable to attain victory this afternoon as the visiting Lasell College Lasers earned an important Great Northeast Athletic Conference win by a 78-66 final inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders dip to 8-11 overall on the season and 3-3 in the GNAC while Lasell ups their record to 11-8 and 4-2 GNAC.

Junior Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, N.H.) led the charge for Rivier as she had 23 points in the contest. Classmate Savanna Butterfield (Londonderry, N.H.) added 17 points while freshman Kaylee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) chipped in with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Junior Caitlin Bulger (Quincy, Mass.) had a solid afternoon with 12 points and 3-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.

Lasell saw four student-athletes reach the double-digit plateau. Brianna Hoffman was the team leader with 16 points and Katie Stopera was right behind her with 15 points. All five of Hoffman's made baskets were shot from beyond the three point line. Both Liz Bougie and Morgan Church provided additional help with 7 rebounds and 10 and 11 points, respectively, off the bench for the Lasers.

Next up for Rivier will be a road GNAC contest at Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on Tuesday evening. Lasell will also be on the road Tuesday night as they travel over to Mount Ida College in another GNAC matchup.
