Women's Basketball runs past Pine Manor, 77-72

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team earned their fourth win of the season as they defeated visiting Pine Manor College, 77-72 inside the Muldoon Gymnasium on Wednesday evening. Rivier climbs above .500 with a 4-3 overall record while the Gators fall to 1-5.

Rivier was paced the offensive prowess of junior Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, N.H.) who led the team with 23 points. Classmate Savanna Butterfield (Londonderry, N.H.) recorded yet another double-double as she knocked down 18 points and collect 13 rebounds. Junior Caitlin Bulger (Quincy, Mass.) also reached double figures with 19 points as she shot a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. Freshman Kaylee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) added eight points in the win for the Raiders.

Pine Manor saw four different student-athletes all reach double-digits with senior Alexis Lee (Akron, Ohio) leading the team with 20 points. Senior Anastasia Walker (West Springfield, Mass.) shot 4-for-5 from the floor on her way to 13 points and junior Fredrika Lawson (Dorchester, Mass.) added 12 points and six rebounds. Sophomore Erica Jones (Atlanta, Ga.) had herself a solid evening with 11 points and nine rebounds to go along with her three assists.

Next up for the Raiders will be another non-conference battle as this time it will be on the road against Westfield State University on Saturday afternoon. Pine Manor will tip-off with Williams College at the Williams Classic on Friday night.
