Women's Basketball tripped up by Wildcats

(Nashua, N.H.) It was a rough afternoon for the Rivier University Women's Basketball team as the dropped another Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest; this time to Johnson and Wales University, 78-66 inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders are now 8-13 overall and stand at 3-5 in the conference. JWU ups their overall record to 20-2 and are 8-1 in the GNAC.

Rivier was led by the junior duo of Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, N.H.) and Savanna Butterfield (Londonderry, N.H.). Each recorded 15 points with Butterfield leading the team in rebounds with seven. Freshman Kaylee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) added 14 points and five rebounds.

JWU sophomore Ashley Thompson (Bellingham, Mass.) had herself an afternoon as she pumped in 20 points and collected 8 rebounds living in the paint. Junior Bobbie Whitehead (Brooklyn, N.Y.) notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while sophomore Raquel Pederzani (Coventry, R.I.) added 12 points and 5 assists. Both junior Amber Edwards (Roxbury, Mass.) and Jordan Neylon (Penacook, N.H.) contributed with 10 point apiece.

The Raiders will travel to Boston, Mass. for their next schedule GNAC contest on Tuesday evening as they have a 7pm tip-off with Suffolk University. Johnson & Wales will host Mitchell College in a non-conference matchup on Monday night.
