FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Rivier women's volleyball team was bested by Dean in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday night at Pieri Gymnasium.
The Raiders fell by set scores of 25-15, 22-25, 19-25, 18-25, and dropped to 11-11 (6-3 GNAC). The Bulldogs improved to 8-11 (4-4 GNAC) with the victory.
Senior middle Lily Sills notched three of her 11 kills in the opening set to help the Raiders get out to a 1-0 lead.
From there, Dean's offense shined as the team hit .387 and .348 in sets two and four as the Bulldogs earned their fourth conference victory of the season.
Senior setter Ryan Hicks posted 32 assists for Rivier along with seven digs, two kills, and two aces. Sophomore outside Sam Driend hit at a .278 clip while posting a team-high 16 digs.
The Raiders head north to Standish, Maine for a GNAC tri-match against Saint Joseph's (Me.) and Regis (Mass.) on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Harold Alfond Center. Match times are set for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
