(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier Univeristy Women's Basketball team closed out their first half schedule this afternoon as they lost to visiting Westfield State University, 85-72 in a non-conference contest at the Muldoon Gymnasium.
Sophomore Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, N.H.) led the offense for the Raiders with 23 points as she connected on 9-of-20 from the floor. Sophomore Savanna Butterfield (Londonderry, N.H.) had an outstanding game as she totaled 13 points, 11 rebound and 3 blocked shots. Senior Deanna Purcell (Hudson, N.H.) finished with 16 points and 9 assists.
Jen Ashton was the leading scorer for the Owls as she knocked down the game high of 25 points. Ashton was 6-for-10 shooting including going 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. Jill Valley came off the bench and added 18 points with Forbassaw Nkamebo providing 14 points in the win.
The Raiders (3-7 overall) will have a month off before the host Albertus Magnus College in the first Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest of the year on January 6th.
