Women's Volleyball sweeps Brandeis

(Waltham, Mass.) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team extended their current unbeaten streak to seven games this evening as they swept Brandeis University in a non-conference contest at Brandeis' Auerbach Arena. The Raiders took the three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-22.

With the win, Rivier is now 26-3 overall on the season with just three games remaining. Brandeis falls to 7-16 with the loss.

The senior duo of Lauren Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Dana Mott (Medway, Mass.) each hammered down 13 kills with Silverman also recording four total blocks. Senior Molly McCormack (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) turned in a six-kill, 10 dig performance on the night while junior Bethany Trevino (Westminster, Colo.) led the defensive effort with 16 digs. Sophomore Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) dished out 32 assists in the win for Rivier.

The Judges were paced by Grace Krumpack and Emma Bartlett who each collected four kills and Yvette Cho led the team with 11 digs. Marlee Nork directed the offense with 14 assists in the loss.

Rivier will return to action on Thursday night with their last regular season home game of the season. They will host the University of Southern Maine for a 7pm non-conference contest. It will also be Senior Night as the program will honor the five seniors who are one of the most distinguished classes in Rivier Women's Volleyball history.
