Lynch, Graham named GNAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference

Winthrop, MA – April 28, 2015 Rivier University Men's Lacrosse players Cody Lynch (JR, Salem, NH) and Kyle Graham (JR, Londonderry, NH) have been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) 2015 Men's Lacrosse All-Conference teams. Joining the two juniors in the announcement is senior Andy Wells (SR, Wilmington, MA) who was named to the All Sportsmanship team.

Cody Lynch, a junior from Salem, New Hampshire, was named to the GNAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference First Team. The middie led the team with 36 goals on the year. Lynch added 8 assist for 44 total points, good for 4th on the team in scoring. A Captain on the Raiders squad as well, Lynch also led the team with 181 ground balls, and on the face-offs he led the Raiders by winning 212 out of 341 face-offs – good for a 62% success rate.

Named to the GNAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Second Team was junior attack Kyle Graham. A fellow New Hampshire native, from Londonderry, and part of Rivier's strong junior class with Lynch, Graham was the Raiders top scorer. He led the team with 64 points, tallying 34 goals and adding 30 assists. Graham also picked up 40 ground balls on the season. Another one of the Raiders Captains, Graham's excellent play throughout the season was highlighted by his selection as GNAC Player of the Week on three separate occasions during the season.

Another Raider receiving recognition from the conference was Andy Wells who was selected to the GNAC All Sportsmanship Team. The senior Wilmington, Massachusetts native played in 43 games during his career as a close defender for the Raiders causing 41 turnovers and picking up 62 ground balls while scoring 2 goals and assisting on 2 others. Wells recognition was a nice end note to a career where he was a member of a senior class that has seen the Men's Lacrosse team reach the GNAC Playoffs in all four years. Over those four years, the Raiders have entered each GNAC Playoff in a higher seeded position than in each of the previous seasons. It is a fitting final bow for the senior player, having his commitment to a consistent work ethic and team first focus culminate in recognition from within the GNAC for his contribution to the Raiders with his Sportsmanship. .

Cody Lynch, Kyle Graham, and Andy Wells were key parts to Rivier's #4 seed in the GNAC Men's Lacrosse Playoffs. The #4 ranking is the highest seed that the Men's Lacrosse program has earned in their brief history and another step forward for the program. Lynch, Graham, and Wells were also instrumental in leading the Raiders to a 12 – 5 overall record, also the best single season mark for the Raiders on record. The team was 4 – 4 in the GNAC, and 9 – 1 on home turf.
