2015 Season Preview: Men's Lacrosse

2015 Rivier Men's Lacrosse Season Preview

(Nashua, N.H.) The 2015 Rivier Raider Men's Lacrosse team will be looking to continue with steady improvements six seasons into the programs existence. The program has seen solid and consistent improvement having collected 19 of the programs 20 wins in the most recent three seasons. The program also posted is first winning regular season in 2014 with an 8-7 record. Constant improvement is the theme day in and day out.

The 2015 squad will return eight of ten starters from the 2014 campaign while adding eleven freshmen to the roster.

2015 Returners include; 1st team All-GNAC Midfielder Kyle Graham (Midfield, Jr. Londonderry NH) Graham was the GNAC's top goal scorer, assists leader and total points leader among all midfielders in the conference (31g, 27a, 58pts.) 2nd team All-GNAC Goalie Clark Plummer (Goalie, Jr. Londonderry NH) 191 total saves, 7.97 goals against average and a 63.5% save percentage. Plummer was the only goaltender in the GNAC with Both a double digit saves per game average with 12.7 saves per game and single digit goals against average at 7.97, Cody Lynch (FO/ Midfielder, Jr. Salem NH) who won 128 face-offs in 2014 while collecting 137 groundballs also scored 22 goals and dished out 19 assists in a 41 point season, John Cangiamila (LSM, So. Woburn MA) who led all LSM's in the GNAC with 58 groundballs also piled up 20 caused turnovers in the 2014 season, Kevin Dembkoski (Attack, Jr. Salem NH) (12g, 11a, 23pts) will look to expand his role at the attack end of the field in the 2015 season, along with Andrew Lucy (Defense, Sr. Salem NH), Andy Wells (Defense, Sr. Wilmington MA) and Trevor Plummer (Defense, Jr. Londonderry NH) who will return as an intact close defense unit which served as the foundation at the defensive end of the field which posted the first single digit goals against average in program history at 7.97 goals against per game (7.97). 

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference also announced today that the program has been chosed fifth overall in their annual Pre-Season Poll as voted on by the GNAC Coaches. You can find the full release from the conference by clicking HERE

The Men's Lacrosse team will kick the season off next week under the lights at Raider Field with a 7pm start time against Thomas College.
