Men's Lacrosse shocked by Lasers, 12-4

(Auburndale, Mass.) The Rivier Men's Lacrosse team fell on the road this afternoon against the Lasell College Lasers by the score of 12-4. With the loss, the Raiders drop to 5-2 (0-2 GNAC) on the season. With the win, the Lasers improve their record to 4-2 (1-0 GNAC).

This was a very tough matchup for the Raiders. It seemed as though they were unable to get themselves establish on the offensive side of the ball. To this point, the Raiders had been very strong on offense. Seemingly, whenever the Raiders needed a big goal, their offense, without hesitation, would deliver. This game would start on a 6-0 run by the Lasers starting at the 13:40 mark. During the run, Casey Sullivan (Quaker Hill, Conn) was able to lead the Lasers with two impressive goals.

Rivier would break the ice at the 11:38 mark in the second quarter. With an unassisted goal by William Ryan (Dorchester, Mass.) the Raiders cut the Laser lead to 6-1. Despite the large deficit, the Raiders continued to play hard and chip away at the Lasell lead. Kyle Graham (Londonderry, N.H.) has been excellent for the Raiders this season. For many of the games this year, Kyle has been the catalyst on offense for the Raiders. He continued to show why he has made such a great impact in many of the Rivier matchups. Coming at the 7:45 mark, Graham was able to beat the goalie and score for the Raiders, cutting the Laser lead, 6-2.

Unfortunately for the Raiders, Lasell would come back fighting. With two goals from Andrew Suh (Colchester, Conn.) the Lasers silenced the brief Raider come-back attempt, and re-established their lead. Tyler Tambouris (Hooksett, N.H.) scored at the 9:07 mark while teammate Cody Lynch (Salem, N.H) was able to score at the 4:47 mark to round out the Raider scoring. Andrew Sue (Colchester, Conn.) scored the final goal of the game for the Lasers at the :40 mark to seal the win.

The Raiders had good performances turned in by Kyle Graham (Londonderry, N.H.) who was able to record a very nice unassisted goal. Cody Lynch (Salem, N.H.) was also able to record an unassisted goal for the Raiders while teammates William Ryan (Dorchester, Mass.) and Tyler Tambouris (Hooksett, N.H.) added a goal each for the Raiders.

Lasell had good performances turned in by Andrew Suh (Colchester, Conn.) led the Lasers with 3 goals. Casey Sullivan (Quaker Hill, Conn.) scored 2 goals and recorded 3 assists while teammate Joe Cunning (Newton, Mass.) recorded 2 goals in the game.

In the next contest, the Rivier Men's Lacrosse team will play host to Becker on March 25th at 7:00pm. This is a non-conference matchup for the Raiders. As for the Lasers, they will next be on the road against the defending GNAC champions Emmanuel College. The game is scheduled for March 24th at 7:00pm.
