Rivier Battles Emmanuel to a 14 - 10 Loss

(Nashua, New Hampshire) The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team dropped a hard fought  Conference game to the defending GNAC Champions Emmanuel College 14 – 10 today at home.  Rivier moves to 7 – 5, 1 – 3 GNAC, while the win takes Emmanuel to 5 – 7 and 4 – 0 GNAC.  Rivier put together a great 2nd and 3rd quarter running stride for stride with the Saints with each team scoring 6 goals, but in the end Emmanuel's 5 – 2 run in the 1stquarter was just too much for the Raiders to overcome.

Rivier had strong performances from Liam Ryan (SO, Dorchester, MA), 3 goals, 1 assist, 4 shots on goal, and 5 ground balls; Kyle Graham (SR, Londonderry, NH), 1 goal, 1 assist, 1 shot on goal, and 3 ground balls; Ryan Coombs (SO, Derry, NH), 3 goals and 5 shots on goal; Tyler Tambouris (SO, Hooksett, NH), 1 goal, 2 assists, 2 shots on goal, and 2 ground balls; and Joe Kelland (SO, Watertown, MA) 1 goal, 2 assists, 3 shots on goal, and 1 ground ball.

The visiting Saints were paced by Chris Curtis (SR, Ashland, MA), 3 goals, 3 assists, 10 shots on goal, and 1 ground ball; Charlie Moran (SO, Maitland, FL), 3 goals and 5 shots on goal; Michael Donovan (SR, Assonet, MA), 2 goals, 1 assist, 2 shots on goal, and 5 ground balls; and Tony Cibelli (JR, Westboro, MA); 2 goals, 1 assist, 4 shots on goal, and 1 ground ball.

Clark Plummer (SR, Londonderry, NH) made 17 saves in net for the Raiders.  For the Saints, Austin Rosenberg (SO, Ronkonkoma, NY) recorded 9 saves.

Next up for the Raiders is a trip to Anna Maria College for a GNAC tilt on April 16th, at 1:00 pm. Emmanuel returns to action April 16th as well, traveling to Johnson & Wales University at 1:00 pm.
