Rivier Falls To Visiting Regis 9-6

(Nashua, New Hampshire) The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team fell to the Regis College Pride 9 – 6 today at home.  With the loss, the Raiders fell to 1 – 2 on the season.  Regis pulled away in the 4th quarter, outscoring Rivier 4 to 1 to break a 5 – 5 tie after three quarters. 

 The visiting Pride held a 4 – 3 lead at halftime.  Rivier opened up a 2 – 0 lead in the 1st quarter on goals by Colby Larsen (FR, Windham, NH) and Kyle Graham (SR, Londonderry, NH).  In the 2nd quarter, Regis outscored Rivier 4 – 1 with two strikes from Alex Ferran (JR, Miami, FL), and a goal apiece for Calvin Brault (SO, Colchester, VT) and Collin Spillane (SO, Franklin, MA).  Joe Kelland (SO, Watertown, MA) notched the lone tally for the Raiders.

Rivier tied the game at 5 to end the 3rd quarter.  Larsen and Ryan Coombs (SO, Derry, NH) paced the attack.  In the 4th quarter Ferran and Brault, on a man-up tally, struck again, and Nicky Rodrigo (SR, Miami, FL) closed out the scoring with two strikes.  Tyler Tambouris (SO, Hooksett, NH) had the lone goal for the Raiders.

Clark Plummer (JR, Londonderry, NH) made 7 saves in net for the Raiders.  For the Pride, D.J. Barrile (JR, Medford, MA) recorded 13 saves to back stop the win.

With the loss the Raiders drop to 1 – 2 on the season.  The win pulls Regis' record to 1 – 1 on the season.  Next up for the Raiders is a visit from Emerson, March 8th, at 6:00 pm on Raider Field.  Regis returns to action March 12th, when they travel to St. Joe's (ME).
