(Newton, Massachusetts) The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team dropped a GNAC road game to Mount Ida College 14 – 12 tonight. With the loss, Rivier moves to 6 – 4, 0 – 2 GNAC on the season. The win moves Mount Ida to 5 – 5, 1 – 1 GNAC. The Raiders used a big 3rd quarter, outscoring Mount Ida 5 – 2 to tie the game at 11 – 11 going into the 4th. The Mustangs pulled away with a 3 – 1 run in the 4th quarter.
Rivier had strong performances from Liam Ryan (SO, Dorchester, MA), 4 goals, 1 assist, 1 ground ball, 9 shots;Tyler Tambouris (SO, Hooksett, NH) 2 goals, 1 assist, 3 shots, and 7 ground balls; and Colby Larsen (FR, Windham, NH), 2 goals, 1 assist, and 6 shots.
Mount Ida was led by Mike Markevich (SR, Westminster, MA) 3 goals, 3 ground balls, 6 shots; Lucas Stralka (SR, East Greenwich, RI) 3 goals, 4 ground balls, 11 shots; and Jon Berry (JR, Chichester, NH) 2 goals, 2 ground balls, 8 shots.
Clark Plummer (SR, Londonderry, NH) made 22 saves in net for the Raiders. For the Mustangs, Cam Hayward (SO, Derry, NH) recorded 16 saves.
Next up for the Raiders is a visit from Johnson & Wales University, April 9th, at 1:00 pm at Raider Field. Mount Ida returns to action April 9th, when they travel to Lasell College.
