Men's Lacrosse earns 16-10 win over Mitchell College

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team scored 16 goals for the second consecutive game as they defeated visiting Mitchell College, 16-10 at Raider Field on Saturday afternoon. The win ups the Raider overall record to 5-2 while the Mariners fall to 1-5 on the season.

Senior Kyle Graham (Londonderry, N.H.) netted the game's opening two tallies as the Raiders jumped out to a 7-1 lead and never looked back. Graham would finish with four goals and a assist to lead the team while sophomore Ryan Coombs (Derry, N.H.) added three goals and four assists. Both freshman Colby Larsen (Windham, N.H.) and sophomore Liam Ryan (Dorchester, Mass.) chipped in with three goals for the Raiders with sophomore Joe Kelland (Watertown, Mass.) found the back of the net twice on the afternoon. Freshman Chris Pennie (Wilmington, Mass.) chipped in with a single tally to account for all 16 goals.

Mitchell saw both Jacob Setzko and Owen LaPorte pace the offensive effort with three goals and Dan DiGioia had a goal and two assists.

Rivier senior netminder Clark Plummer (Londonderry, N.H.) stopped 7 of 17 shots on net for his fifth win of 2016. His counterpart, JD LeMay, was successful on 11 of 27 shots he faced.

The Raiders will have one last non-conference to close out the month of March before Great Northeast Athletic Conference play begins. On Wednesday evening, Rivier will host Massachusetts Maritime Academy at Raider Field with a 7pm start time.
