Women's Soccer tripped up by JWU

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Soccer team allowed a pair of second half goals as they fell to visiting Johnson & Wales University this afternoon, 2-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Raider Field. The loss sends the Raiders' overall record to 3-7-2 and a 2-6-0 mark in the conference. The Wildcats remain undefeated in conference play at 6-0-2 and are now 10-2-3 on the season.

JWU's Kyra Selner broke the scoreless tie at the 49 minute mark as she connected for her 10th goal of the season off a feed from Gabriella Weithofer. 25 minutes later, Selner extended the lead with another goal after being set up by Taylor Hopkins.

Rivier junior goalkeeper Lauren Goodspeed (Merrimack, N.H.) had a busy afternoon as she stopped nine of eleven shots on net. The Wildcats' Colleen Lynch was successful on all three shots the Raiders were able to place on net.

Next up for Rivier will be a road trip to Auburndale, Mass. for another GNAC tilt. The Raiders will kick off at 2:30pm on Saturday afternoon as they take on Lasell College.
