(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced that Rivier University senior Chris Markuson has been selected as the GNAC Men's Volleyball Offensive & Defensive Player of the Week. Freshman Grant Andler completed the Raider sweep as he was named GNAC Rookie of the Week.

In a four win, no loss week for the Men's Volleyball team, the Cupertino, California native participated in two matches. He averaged 4.78 kills per set on a .219 hitting percentage in the two GNAC wins over Emmanuel and Emerson. The senior also registered 3.67 digs and 0.89 blocks per set for the week. He began the week with a 19-kill, 25-dig double-double against Emerson then followed that with 24 kills, 8 digs and 5 blocks against Emmanuel.

Andler earned his second straight GNAC Rookie of the Week as he played in three matches and averaged 1.89 kills, 0.78 digs and 0.78 blocks for the Raiders. The Chicago native's top performance came in a five set win at Emmanuel as he registered 12 kills, 3 digs and four blocks.

The Raiders will have very important GNAC contests this week as they look to capture their eighth consecutive regular season crown. They'll battle Wentworth in Boston tomorrow evening before hosting Johnson & Wales (4/2) and Wentworth (4/4) to close out the regular season.
