Freshman Heckler named GNAC Rookie of the Week

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced today that freshman Matt Heckler was selected as the GNAC Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

The native of Simi Valley, California – Heckler averaged 1.63 kills per set, 0.5 digs per set and 0.75 blocks per set while hitting .409 in the team's perfect 3-0 week.

Heckler recorded five kills and a .500 hitting percentage in the 3-0 win over Mount Ida College back on February 25th. He followed that with a six kill, .750 hitting percentage against Emerson College before adding two kills, including a service ace in limited action against Daniel Webster College.

This is the first time this season and in the career that Heckler has garnered GNAC Honors.
