Men's Volleyball Student-Athletes receive GNAC Weekly Honors

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference unveiled their Week Nine Men's Volleyball weekly award winners and two Rivier Unviersity Student-Athletes were chosen for their efforts on the court. 

Senior Chris Markuson (Cupertino, Calif.) led the Raider defense with 2.10 digs and 0.60 blocks per set in a perfect 3-0 week for Rivier. The 6-5 outside hitter also averaged 3.10 kills per set on a .222 hitting percentage. His top performance was a 16-kill, 12-dig showing in a four set win at Lasell College. 

Freshman Grant Andler (Chicago, Illinois) was awarded his first career GNAC Rookie of the Week honors as he averaged 2.83 kills and 0.83 blocks per set with a .625 hitting percentage over the three contests. Andler had an 11-kill showing in the team's four set win over Lasell. 

Over the course of the week, the Raiders earned three important GNAC victories over Lasell, Johnson & Wales and Albertus Magnus. Rivier is now 11-9 on the season with a 6-1 conference mark. They are set to travel to Emerson tomorrow in another important GNAC tilt.
