Field Hockey tripped up at Mount Ida, 4-1

(Newton, Mass.) The Rivier University Field Hockey team suffered a 4-1 setback this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play at Mount Ida College. The loss sends the Raiders to 2-6 on the season and 0-3 in the conference while the Mustangs improve to 6-4, 1-2 GNAC.

After allowing an early goal, the Raiders evened the game through sophomore Linsey Roth's (Tyngsboro, Mass.) fourth goal of the season, which came on a feed from freshman Jaclyn Fraser (Wilmington, Mass.) just three minutes following the Mount Ida goal.

Mount Ida, who ran their win streak to four games, received goals from Lindsey Hildreth, Lexi Minicucci, Taylor Lincoln and Sarah Hemstock on the afternoon.

Rivier sophomore Emily Foster (West Lebanon, N.H.) made three saves and junior Emily Knoops (Tewksbury, Mass.) made a defensive save for the Raiders in the loss. Mount Ida's Grace Ryan stopped two of the three shots she faced on net.

Rivier will return home for their next contest on Monday night. The Raiders will host crosstown foe Daniel Webster College for the final time in a 7pm game time at Raider Field.
