Gouthier tabbed GNAC Baseball Rookie of the Week

(Boston, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced that Rivier University freshman George Gouthier (Haverhill, Mass.) has been selected as the GNAC Baseball Rookie of the Week for the week ending on April 13.

Gouthier had a tremendous week for the Raiders as he helped lead them to two win, including a GNAC win over Norwich this past week. The freshman third baseman was 7-for-12 (.583 average) with a RBI and three runs scored. Gouthier also registered a .688 on base percentage, .667 slugging percentage and used his speed to scamper home from second base to score the game winning run against Norwich.

This is the first time this season that a Rivier Baseball Student-Athlete has been honored by the GNAC. The Raiders will return to the field on Thursday afternoon as they travel to Albertus Magnus College for an important GNAC double-header beginning at 4pm in New Haven, Conn.
