Raiders storm past Framingham State on Senior Night

(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team sent senior Sarah Howard (West Greenwich, RI) out with a 79-68 victory over visiting Framingham State University.

Rivier's offense was paced by the duo of sophomore Deanna Purcell (Hudson, NH) and junior A.J. Guidi (Derry, NH). The combo combined for 51 of the team's 79 points as Purcell was the leader with 26. Junior Jaclyn Penniman (Dudley, MA) came off the bench and added 12 points while junior Erin Sweeney (Chicopee, MA) almost recorded a double as she had 9 rebounds and 8 assists.

Framingham State was led by Kia Minor who had 25 points and 10 rebounds. Four other Rams reached double figures including Madeleine Park (17 points) and Kristen Hoffman (11 points/10 rebounds).

Howard recorded 2 points for the Raiders who improved to 14-9 on the season.

The Raiders will close out the 2012-13 regular season on the road against Great Northeast Athletic Conference foe, the University of Saint Joseph on Saturday afternoon. Framingham State will finish their regular season campaign with a 10-13 overall record and a 6-6 mark in the MASCAC.
