Purcell, Guidi combine for 45 points in rout of Anna Maria

(Paxton, MA) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team remains undefeated inside of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference as they easily defeated the Amcats, 90-63 on the road this evening.

Sophomore Deanna Purcell (Hudson, NH) led all scorers as she had a 27 point night – her 10th 20+ point game of the season. She finished the game going 10-for-13 with two 3-pointers in 26 minutes of action. Junior A.J. Guidi (Derry, NH) shot 6-for-9 from the field as she notched 18 points on the night. Classmate Ryan Baker (Whitinsville, MA) was the other double-digit scorer as she added 12 points and 5 assists in the victory.

The Raiders are now 3-0 in the GNAC this season and has won 14 of their last 16 conference games, dating back to last season.

The Amcats were led by Katie Pryor and Kayla Cummings who both scored 15 points apiece. Anna Maria now falls to 4-10 on the season and 0-1 in the GNAC.

Rivier (9-5 overall) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they host Norwich University in a 1pm tip-off.
