Swislosky’s Hat Trick Rallies Field Hockey to 4-3 Victory Over Colby-Sawyer, Extends Winning Streak

NEW LONDON, N.H.Reilly Swislosky's hat trick performance was all the difference in a 4-3 road win for Rivier field hockey over Colby-Sawyer at Veitch Field on Tuesday night. The sophomore scored both the game-tying and winning goals late in the contest to give the Raiders their fourth-straight victory, all in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. Rivier now sits at 5-6 (5-3 GNAC), while Colby-Sawyer dipped to 8-4 (5-3 GNAC).

After falling into a 2-0 deficit at the half, Swislosky got the Raiders offense going with an unassisted goal 7:17 into the third quarter. Less than two minutes later, Madison Streeter would find the back of the cage after tipping Madison Bovill's shot from the top of the circle off a penalty corner.

The Chargers would regain the lead late in the third quarter as Courtney Larson scored her second of the game. Swislosky would answer on a feed from Hailey Morse to tie the game at 3-3, heading into the final quarter of action.

Swislosky would complete the hat trick try on a goal just 47 seconds into the fourth period, tapping in a loose ball out in front of the cage. Rivier would remain in possession for the remainder of regulation to shut down the hosts and extend its winning streak to four games.

Goalkeeper Kylie Coupal earned her fifth win, making 11 saves on 14 shots on goal. The Raiders outshot Colby-Sawyer 17-15.

Rivier will look to extend the winning streak in a non-conference bout at Keene St. on Thursday, Oct. 12, with a scheduled start time of 6:30 p.m. from the Owl Athletic Complex.
