Field Hockey falls to Lasell College, 3-0

(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Field Hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision this evening to Lasell College in a North Atlantic Conference contest at Raider Field.

Both teams played well in the first half as the game was scoreless after the first 35 minutes of play.

In the second half, Lasell (10-7 overall, 4-3 NAC) was able to get the goal they needed for the win as Cristina Wilson knocked home a pass from Courtney Braman inside the 41 minute mark.

The Lasers would extend their lead to 2-0 when Ashley Gleason was the recipient of a loose ball in front of the net. The third goal was scored when Danielle Hottin lined home a pass from a penalty corner at 58:44.

Rivier (4-12 overall, 0-7 NAC) got a good effort from junior goalkeeper Makenzie Flagg (Shirely, MA) who stopped 10 of 13 shots on the evening. Lasell's Taylor Sheehan did not face a shot on net as she earned the shutout victory.

The Raiders will close out the 2013 season this Saturday afternoon as they host Thomas College at 12pm. It will also mark the end of the careers for seniors Meghan Stephen (Pelham, NH), Kymm Dennis (Deerfield, NH) and Aimee Reutzel (Washington, CT). Lasell will return to action on Saturday as well as they travel to Farmington, Maine to battle the Beavers of UMaine-Farmington.
