Flagg makes 13 saves in 2-0 loss to Maine-Farmington

(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Field Hockey team lost a tough 2-0 decision this afternoon to the University of Maine-Farmington in North Atlantic Conference competition up on Raider Field.

The Beavers were able to score the only two goals in the first half as Kaitlyn Bullen was the first one to get one past Rivier junior goaltender Makenzie Flagg (Shirley, MA) just 14:49 into the game.

Just as the first half was able to close out, UMF's Chelsea Morley knocked home a pass from Dalainey Kein for the 2-0 advantage.

The teams would draw even in the second stanza in part of the play by Flagg. She faced a total of nine shots on net in the final 35 minutes and was able to stop all of them. Flagg recorded 13 saves on the afternoon.

UMF's Curran Brierley did not see a shot on net as she earned the shutout victory.

The Raiders will return to the field briefly on Monday afternoon as they finish a suspended game against Fitchburg State University. The final 20+ minutes of regulation will begin at 6pm up on Raider Field.
