(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Field Hockey team ended up on the wrong side of a 7-0 decision this evening to New England College in a North Atlantic Conference contest at Raider Field.
The game was the tale of two halves as the score was only 1-0 in favor of NEC before they exploded for six goals over the final 35 minutes.
The Pilgrims received two goal games from Cody Kent, Patricia Wright and Carissa O'Brien as they improve to 3-13 on the season and 2-5 in the NAC.
Rivier, who falls to 4-11 overall and 0-6 in the NAC, managed just three shots on goal. Their best opportunity occurred in the first half when freshman Amber Bennett (New Boston, NH) laced a shot of the far post during a penalty corner.
Raider junior goaltender Makenzie Flagg (Shirley, MA) did all she could as she stopped 13 of the 20 shots she faced on net. A combination of Courtney Duquette and Marina Berger recorded three saves for the shutout for the Pilgrims.
Rivier will travel to Castleton State this Friday afternoon in another NAC battle. New England College will also battle Castleton State in their next matchup on October 23rd.
