Men's Volleyball: Raiders fall at home to #6 Wentworth

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Volleyball team dropped just their second contest at home this season as the sixth ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology took home the 3-1 Great Northeast Athletic Conference win this evening inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders are now 17-10 on the season and 8-3 in the conference while the Leopards improve to 20-6, 9-1 GNAC.

Wentworth was victorious by set scores of 25-23, 17-25, 25-17 and 25-23.

Junior Grant Andler (Chicago, Ill.) led the way for Rivier as he hammered out 14 kills and senior Ian Wolski (Westfield, Mass.) chipped in with 12 kills of his own. Senior Tyler Blank (Rochester, N.Y.) accumulated 45 assists on the evening with junior libero Garrett Bucklin (Jamestown, R.I.) collected 10 digs along the back line.

For the Leopards, juniors Jon Roat (Macedon, N.Y.) and Sean Mullen (Longwood, Fla.) each contributed 12 kills and 7 digs to lead the winning effort as senior Jake Reed (Arvada, Colo.) totaled nine winners and .389 hitting percentage. Junior Collin Ritter (Feeding Hills, Mass.) handed out 36 helpers and seven total blocks. Senior Mike Hansen (Rochester, N.Y.) was a wall along the net as he amassed nine total blocks.

Next up for the Raiders will be a visit to top ranked Springfield College on Friday night. Wentworth will return to the court in New Haven, Connecticut as they are in a GNAC Tri-Match with Albertus Magnus and #12 Lasell College.
