Boston, MA - #9 Rivier College (7-1 GNAC; 23-7 overall) dropped their first GNAC match of the year after a tightly contested 5 set loss to #12 Emmanuel College. The Raiders struggled with the tough serves of the Saints and had to work hard for every point in the match. Senior Jared Andreozzi narrowly missed a triple double registering 16 kills, 10 digs and 8 blocks in the losing effort. Junior defensive specialist Chris Convertito dug a team high 22 attacks while freshman middle blocker Aaron Almario put back 9 blocks. Senior opposite hitter John Furka was the lone ace server for RIV with 2 and he also chipped in with 4 kills on offense. Sophomore setter Steve Visentin dished out 45 assists and sophomore middle hitter Taylor Lindner had 10 kills while junior outside hitter Alex Xenidis had 7 kills. Back row players Drew Corwin and Steve Wood combined for 18 digs.
