Raiders Volleyball Derailed At Golden Dome Classic

Newark, NJ - #5 Rivier College (9-3 overall; 2-0 GNAC) was handed 3 losses at the Rutgers-Newark University Golden Dome Classic to give them an overall record of 9-3 on the season. Rivier was defeated in 5 sets by #15 Baruch College followed by 4 set losses to #10 Stevens Institute of Technology and #7 New York University. The Raiders picked up their lone win of the tournament with a 3-0 sweep over D'Youville College.

Senior Jared Andreozzi led the Blue and White with a team high 62 kills and a team high 29 digs on the tournament. Andreozzi's classmates John Furka and Steve Wood both played solid roles on the weekend. Furka put down 34 kills and 9 blocks while Wood played a variety of roles to help the Raiders with solid passing, defense, serving, and emotional energy off the bench.

Juniors Chris Convertito, Drew Corwin, and Andrew Paine combined for 48 digs and middle hitter Alex Xenidis and Taylor Lindner tallied 41 kills and 31 blocks. Freshman Cameron Walker directed the offense with 146 assists on the tournament and a solid 16 blocks.
