Men’s Lacrosse Blows Past Southern Maine

NASHUA, NH: Rivier men's lacrosse took down Southern Maine this afternoon on non-conference action on Joanne Merrill Field.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 3/11/23

- Score: Rivier 20, Southern Maine 9

- Records: Rivier (2-1), Southern Maine (0-4)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders scored the first 12 goals of the contest before the Huskies could answer back. The first half ended with Rivier leading 15-2.

- The Second half was closer, with both teams scoring four in the third and Southern Maine outscoring Riv 3-1 in the fourth.

- Five players for the Riders netted multiple goals, starting with Connor Eck (Franklin, MA), who had a game-high six goals and three assists. Nicholas Tavares (Danvers, MA), Michael Ference (Salem, NH), and Chris Heitmiller (Nashua, NH) all beat the Husky tenders three times. Ference added three assists, while Tavares added two.

- Nick James topped Southern Maine with four goals and one assist. Schuyler Wetmore added two goals of his own, along with three assists.

- Sawyer Gagnon (Gorham, ME) got the win (2-1) after saving seven shots. Addison Dietz was tagged with the loss, saving just five shots on net.
