(Nashua, NH) The Simmons College Sharks made an early goal stand up as they nip the Rivier College Raiders, 1-0 in GNAC Women's Soccer action.
The Sharks (3-5 overall, 2-2 GNAC) scored the only goal just 1:12 into the game. Simmons sophomore Desh Perera redirected a shot from Justine Beauchamp which was able to sneak past Rivier goalkeeper Christine Surber (Langdon, NH).
The teams played scoreless for the final 88 minutes as the Sharks held on for the 1-0 win.
Surber was terrific in net as she made 10 saves. Simmons goalkeeper Ashley Wheeler stopped all four shots she saw.
Rivier (1-6-1 overall, 0-4 GNAC) will host cross town foe Daniel Webster College on Wednesday, September 28 in their next match. Simmons will host GNAC opponent Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on Wednesday as well.
