Women’s Ice Hockey Collects Four ECHA Postseason Awards

ECHA RELEASE

WORCESTER, Mass. – Following the best finish in program history, including its first trip to the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) Championship, four Rivier women's ice hockey members were honored with Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) awards, the alliance released Friday afternoon. Molly Dukesherer was named to the All-ECHA First Team, Paige Anger and Rachel Hinkley made the Second Team, and Tia Picardi was placed on the Rookie Team.

Sophomore defender Dukesherer saw time in 25 contests, totaling nine points on seven goals and two assists. The Richmond, Mich. native scored on the powerplay three times and game-winners on two occasions.

Anger, a junior forward, totaled ten points on three goals and seven assists while playing in all 26 games to land on the Second Team. The Nashua, N.H. native was a huge part of the Raiders' offense this season, finishing tied for second in points scored.

Hinkley was also selected for the Second Team due to her strong performance in net in her junior campaign. After coming back from an injury that sidelined her for the first part of the season, Hinkley started in nine games and appeared in 10. She made 360 saves, averaging a .970 save percentage, which at the time of publication is tops in the nation among Division III women's ice hockey netminders. She recorded five wins, one loss, and one tie this season.

Picardi, a first-year forward, was named to the Rookie Team after totaling eight points on four goals and four assists. She was an important player for the Raiders this season, jumping right in and having an instant impact in her first collegiate season, skating in all 26 games.

The Raiders will look to continue their success when they transition to the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) beginning next season.
