NASHUA, N.H. – With just 1:15 left in overtime, Caeli Reed recorded the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over MCLA on Saturday night at Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Skating Rink to sweep the weekend home-and-home series. This goal marked Reed's first collegiate tally.
The Raiders are now 7-8-3 overall and 2-2-2 in Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) action with MCLA falling to 4-14 on the season and remaining winless in ECHA play.
Rivier totaled 50 shots in the contest, while the Trailblazers put 24 on target.
The Raiders tallied four penalty minutes on two infractions, with MCLA collecting six minutes on three infractions, with neither team able to strike on the powerplay.
Rachel Hinkley made 24 saves for Riv, earning her second career shutout and second in as many starts.
Rivier will head to the Worcester Ice Center on Friday, Feb. 2 to face Worcester St. in an ECHA matchup with a puck drop of 7:10 p.m.
