
Grumblatt Tabbed NEWBA Player of the Week
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Rivier women's basketball senior Lyric Grumblatt was named New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Player of the Week, the association released Tuesday afternoon. This marks the second consecutive week that Grumblatt has received a weekly NEWBA honor, earning a spot on the First Team a week ago.
Grumblatt surpassed the 2,000-point milestone in a triumph over Plymouth St. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, becoming the second Raider to accomplish the feat. In the game, Grumblatt scored 28 points on 9-of-17 shooting, including a 6-of-9 performance from the three-point line. She also contributed seven steals and six rebounds in 35 minutes of action.
Grumblatt and the Raiders are set to take on Framingham St. in a non-conference clash on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Muldoon Center with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. Heading into the matchup, Grumblatt ranks fourth in NCAA Division III with 28.7 points per game, which is atop the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) leaderboard.
