Chargers down Raiders 3-0 on Senior Night

(Nashua, NH) The Colby-Sawyer College Men's Soccer team defeated the Rivier College Raiders tonight in front of about 40 folks in attendance for Rivier's Senior Night.

The Chargers got off to an early lead when Kevin Flaherty netted one just inside the 15 minute mark. Derek Veilleux was credited with the assist. Less than 10 minutes later, Clay Allen took a pass from Flaherty and knocked it off of the far post to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

Colby-Sawyer made it 3-0 late in the second half as Drew Pehoviak fed Chris DiCecca inside the box.

In total, the Chargers registered 57 shots; 28 of which was on net.

Rivier's freshman goalkeeper Bryar King (Berlin, NH) played outstandingly in the loss. He stopped 25 of 28 shots on goal and has finished the season with a record 150 saves.

Seniors Cameron Williams (Lisbon, NH), Carl Ghannad (Salem, MA) and Corey Oliveiro (Londonderry, NH) played in their final game for the Raiders.

Rivier finishes the 2011 campaign, the first under Head Coach Bill Lawler with an 0-15 record.
