Saints nip Raiders, 2-0 in Men's Soccer action

(Nashua, NH) The Emmanuel College Saints used two second half goals to defeat the Rivier College Raiders, 2-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action this afternoon.

The Saints took a total of 28 shots on goal, including 20 in the first half. Rivier freshman goaltender Bryar King (Berlin, NH) was up to the task as he stopped all 20 that he saw in the first stanza.

Just over a minute into the second half, Emmanuel would get on the board. Ryan Brady (Springfield, VT) scored an unassisted goal as he found himself all alone inside the box. The goal was Brady's second of 2011.

The Saints would extend the lead to 2-0 when Juan Levy (Andover, MA) sprinted past two Rivier defenders and put one into the lower left corner inside the 84th minute.

Rivier (0-10 overall, 0-8 GNAC) will host Fitchburg State College in a non-conference match up on Thursday (10/13) night. Emmanuel host Albertus Magnus College on Saturday (10/15) in their next scheduled contest.
