Men’s Ice Hockey Drops Senior Night Battle with Worcester St.

NASHUA, N.H. – Worcester St. potted two third period goals to take down the Rivier men's ice hockey team, 2-0, in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) showdown on Senior Night at Conway Arena.

With the loss, the Raiders dropped to 5-11-1 (1-8-1 MASCAC), while the Lancers improved to 7-7-1 (4-4-1 MASCAC).

After two scoreless periods, Worcester St. broke the deadlock at the 14:49 mark in the third period. The Lancers scored their second of the night on a powerplay opportunity and eventually closed out the game, 2-0.

Senior goalkeeper LJ Newell logged 33 saves in the loss.

The Raiders are back in action Thursday, Jan. 30 to close out the season series with Anna Maria. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:40 p.m. at Horgan Arena.
