Men’s Ice Hockey Falls to Nichols

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier men's ice hockey team fell to Nichols by a final score of 4-0 on Tuesday evening in a non-conference bout at Conway Arena.

As a result, the Raiders dropped to 2-3-1 while the Bison improved to 3-4-2.

Nichols came out firing in the opening frame as they outshot the Raiders 18-6. As the first horn sounded, both teams were deadlocked at 0-0.

Just thirty seconds into the second period, one of four individual goal scorers for Nichols potted the game's first. The Bison continued to apply pressure in the later stages and notched three more unanswered goals to close out the contest.

Sophomore goalkeeper Mason Meyer recorded 45 saves in the loss.

The Raiders hit the road to take part in the North Country Tournament, hosted by SUNY Canton, beginning on Saturday, Nov. 30. They will face off against SUNY Potsdam in their opening match with puck drop scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Roos House.
