Men’s Basketball Bested by Wildcats

PROVIDENCE, RI: Rivier men's basketball fell this afternoon in GNAC play to Johnson & Wales.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/11/23

- Score: JWU 97, Rivier 64

- Records: JWU (12-11, 9-7 GNAC), Rivier (2-22, 0-16 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Wildcats took the lead early on and never looked back. After taking a 22-point lead into the break, JWU extended that in the second half to 33 points.

- Aireus Raspberry topped all scorers with 32 points. Bryan Davis contributed 14 points and ten rebounds to complete the double-double.

- For the Raiders, Nikolas Pignone (Stoneham, MA) had a team-high 16 points. He was followed by Pharaoh Davis (Plainville, MA), who had ten points and six rebounds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Rebounds: JWU 55, Rivier 31

-  Assists: JWU 15, Rivier 12

-  Shooting %'s: JWU (46.3%, 3-pt 44.8%, FT 55.6%), Rivier (39.3%, 3-pt 50%, FT 75%)
