Men’s Basketball Downed by AMCATS

PAXTON, MA: Rivier men's basketball suffered a loss to GNAC opponent Anna Maria College this afternoon in the Fuller Fitness Center.  

THE BASICS:

- Score: Anna Maria 82, Rivier 70

- Records: Anna Maria (2-12, 1-5 GNAC), Rivier (2-13, 0-7 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  After a close first half, the AMCATS took over in the second, outscoring the Raiders 35 to 27. Sean Zabari led the way for Anna Maria with a game-high 19 points along with ten rebounds giving him the double-double. Kennedy Minix-Rogers added 18 points of his own, with seven boards.

- Nikolas Pignone (Stoneham, MA) had a team-high 18 points for Rivier. Pignone was paced by teammate Amarre Spence (Hartford, CT), who had a career-high day putting up 17 points to go with five rebounds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Rebounds: Anna Maria 54, Rivier 48

-  Assists: Anna Maria 15, Rivier 12

-  Shooting Percentage: Anna Maria 44.1%, Rivier 33.8%
