Charges nip Raiders, 2-1

(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Field Hockey team fell to the visiting Colby-Sawyer College Chargers, 2-1 in front of about 100 people this afternoon at Raider Field.

Rivier (2-9 overall, 0-5 NAC) took an early 1-0 lead as senior Ashley Ruocco (East Kingston, NH) netted her goal of the season. Ruocco knocked home a loose rebound after CSC goaltender Jodi Dumayne stopped sophomore Presliegh Skelley's (Wolfeboro, NH) shot inside the 16.

Trailing by a goal after the halftime intermission, the Chargers (5-3 overall, 1-1 NAC) fought back to tie the game. Emma Frampton snuck a shot past Rivier goalie Makenzie Flagg (Shirley, MA) as she was assisted by Alexa Comesanas.

CSC would get the game winner just five minutes later when Nicole Danehy found daylight after Flagg stopped her previous two shots.

Flagg made a total of 20 saves in the game as the Chargers outshot Rivier 31-6. Dumayne recorded 3 saves (on 4 shots) to earn the win for Colby-Sawyer.
