Blazers zap Raiders in Field Hockey

(Nashua, NH) Two days after defeating Daniel Webster College, the Rivier Field Hockey team dropped a 6-2 decision to non-conference opponent Elms College this morning at Raider Field.

The Blazers (1-2 overall) got the scoring started early as Kayla Narey found the back of the net just 11 minutes into the game. Rivier was able to answer right back as freshman Kate Adinolfo (Manchester, NH) knocked home her first of the season inside the 22 minute mark. Senior Kristen Tyler (Thornton, NH) was credited with the assist. With just 18 seconds left to play in the half, Tatiana Frizzell gave Elms the lead as she swatted home a loose ball.

Elms would receive second half goals from Kristina Kopysciniski, Allie LaMonica, Megahn Goodrow and Brianna Lyons as they capitalized on 6 of their 16 shots on goal.

Tyler would score her fourth goal in two games with 1:12 left to play to give the final score of 6-2.

Rivier (1-3 overall) will enjoy the next few days off as they will begin to prepare for Anna Maria College. The Amcats will visit on September 11th with a 7pm start time.
