Ellie Goyette Named Rivier Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Head Coach
NASHUA, N.H. – Ellie Goyette has been tabbed the newest head coach of the Rivier men's and women's cross country teams, Director of Athletics Jonathan Harper announced Wednesday.
"I am looking forward to welcoming Coach Goyette to our Raider family," said Harper. "I have no doubt that she will be able to take our cross country programs to the next level. The combination of her experience as a student-athlete and organizational skills will set her up well for the challenge ahead."
Goyette graduated from Bryant University in 2021 with a Bachelor's in Human Resource Management. During her time in Smithfield, she was a member of the Bulldogs' Division I cross country and track and field programs for four years.
Goyette is no stranger to the area having attended Bishop Guertin High School from 2013 to 2017. During her time with the Cardinals, she earned team MVP, Lowell Sun All-Star, and All-State accolades in her first year before helping the squad bring home a state championship in her sophomore season.
"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to lead and shape our team's future," said Goyette. "I'm excited to hit the ground running with the Raider athletes, dedicated to unlocking our full potential and achieving remarkable success together. With a lifelong passion for the sport, I am eager to foster a culture of growth, resilience, and shared love for cross country amongst our runners."
Both teams will kick off the 2024 campaign under Goyette's leadership at the Charger XC Invitational on Friday, Aug. 31.
