Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Manhattanville and Ramapo

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier men's volleyball team used complete team efforts to sweep both Manhattanville and Ramapo in a non-conference tri-match on Saturday at the Muldoon Center.

The Raiders improved to 3-4 overall after downing the Valiants and Roadrunners by set scores of 25-14, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-18, 25-16, 25-20, respectively.

Rivier will continue its homestand with a mid-week non-conference matchup against AIC on Wednesday, Feb. 7 with first serve set for 7:00 p.m.

Rivier 3, Manhattanville 0

In the opening match of the day, Rivier hit .394 as a team to notch a straight sweep of Manhattanville to begin the day 1-0.

The Raiders used key performances from Tyler DickinsonBassam AwdeSebastian MenchacaMatthew McCloskeyIzaviah Hong, and Justin Barish to grind out the victory.

Dickinson hit .857, notching six kills on seven errorless swings, while Barish's 15 assists were a team-best.

Rivier combined for 25 digs, 10 blocks, and seven aces.

Rivier 3, Ramapo 0

In the final match of the afternoon, Rivier's Neil Rea dished out 35 assists in a three-set victory over the Roadrunners. Once again, the offense shined as the team put together a .493 hitting percentage.

Ryan Peace was near-perfect in attacks from the middle, recording nine kills at a .727 clip in the triumph. Sokunbuth Ly hit .545 as he recorded a team-high 15 kills. Also hitting .500 or better were Racine Camara (four kills, .800), Matthew McCloskey (five kills, .625), Isaac Borges (four kills, .500), and Ethan Soltis (two kills, .500).

The Raiders recorded 21 digs, six aces, and six blocks in the victory.
