Women's Basketball: Raiders fall to Judges in Brandeis Tip-Off Tournament

(Waltham, Mass.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team lost in the opening game of the Brandeis University Tip-Off Tournament this evening to the host Judges, 81-66. The loss sends the Raiders to an overall record of 0-4 to start the season and also to the tournament consolation game tomorrow afternoon against Husson University.

Senior Megan Hamel (Colebrook, N.H.) scored a game-high 22 points while collecting eight rebounds and classmate Kaylee Kacavas recorded a 19 points for the Raiders. Freshman Ciera Clark ( ) chipped in with eight points off the bench and junior Elizabeth Meehan (Nashua, N.H.) netted seven points in the loss.

Brandeis was paced by the double-double of Sarah Jaromin, who had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Camila Casanueva provided additional help offensively with 16 points and Shannon Smally finished with 10 points. Maya Burris also shined bright as she scored 12 points in a reserve effort with Amber Graves pulling down 10 rebounds off the bench.

The Raiders will tip-off with the Eagles of Husson University tomorrow afternoon at 12pm in the tournament consolation game. Brandeis will battle Western Connecticut State University in the 2pm championship game.
