(Paxton, MA) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team could not overcome a 9 point deficit at halftime as they lost their 4th Great Northeast Athletic Conference game this evening, 57-50 to the Anna Maria Amcats.
Junior Nick Walch (Dedham, MA) shot 50% from the floor, 9-for-18, to lead the Raiders with 21 points and 18 rebounds. Classmate Tom Poitras (Bow, NH) also recorded double-digits as he had 14 points. Freshman Kywane Thomas (Hartford, CT) and junior Mike Polley (Nashua, NH) were the other two Raiders to record points as they had 8 and 7, respectively.
Anthony Click recorded 15 points while a trio of teammates had 9 a piece for the Amcats, who improve to 7-7 overall and 5-2 in the GNAC.
Rivier (6-8 overall, 2-5 GNAC) will look to rebound from this loss on Thursday night as they host GNAC foe Emerson College in a 7pm tip-off inside the Muldoon Gymnasium.
