Rivier Falls 12 - 7 to Lasell

(Nashua, New Hampshire) The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team opened GNAC Conference play with a loss to visiting Lasell College 12 – 7 today at home.  Rivier moves to 6 – 3, 0 – 1 GNAC, on the season while the win takes Lasell to 6 – 2 and 1 – 0 GNAC.  Rivier fell behind in the third and fourth quarters as the visiting Lasers stretched an 8 – 6 halftime advantage to a five goal margin, propelled by a 4 goal 4^th quarter.    

Rivier had strong performances from Ryan Coombs (SO, Derry, NH), 2 goals, 4 shots on goal, and 1 ground ball;Liam Ryan (SO, Dorchester, MA), 2 goals, 2 ground balls, 5 shots on goal; and Kyle Graham (SR, Londonderry, NH), 1 goal, 3 assists, and 2 ground balls. 

The visiting Lasers were paced by Casey Sullivan (SR, Quaker Hill, CT), 1 goal, 3 assists, and 7 shots on goal; Anthony Saitta (JR, Derry, NH), 2 goals, 1 assist, 2 ground balls, 8 shots on goal; Austin Tomasetti (SO, Elmsford, NY), 2 goals, 2 ground balls, 5 shots on goal; and Ryan Madden (FR, Hingham, MA); 4 goals, 1 ground ball, 6 shots on goal.

Clark Plummer (SR, Londonderry, NH) made 23 saves in net for the Raiders.  For the Lasers, Jorge Salazar (JR, Waltham, MA) recorded 11 saves.

Next up for the Raiders is a trip to Mount Ida College for a GNAC tilt on April 6^th, at 6:00 pm. Lasell returns to action April 6^th as well, hosting Emmanuel at 4:00 pm.
