Men's Lacrosse downs Mass Maritime, 14-8

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team defeated the visiting Massachusetts Maritime Academy Buccaneers, 14-8 tonight in front of a lively crowd at Raider Field. With the win, Rivier moves to 6-2 on the season while Massachusetts Maritime drops to 4-4. The Raiders pulled away in the third quarter, turning a tight 7-6 halftime lead into a 12-6 advantage heading to the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Tyler Tambouris (Hooksett, N.H.) led the Rivier offensive attack as he netted three goals with one assist while also scooping up seven ground balls. Classmate Ryan Coombs (Derry, N.H.) adding the scoring parade with three goals of his own with an assist. Sophomore Liam Ryan (Dorchester, Mass.) provided additional help with three goals while senior Kyle Graham (Londonderry, N.H.) chipped in with a goal and three assists

Freshman Cody Livermore (Ludlow, Mass.) match Ryan for the game high of four goals and junior Steven Anderson (Crownsville, Md.) had three tallies in the loss for Massachusetts Maritime.

Senior goalkeeper Clark Plummer (Londonderry, N.H.) stopped 15 of 23 shots to preserve the Raiders' sixth win of the season. Fellow senior goalkeeper James Klose (Ellicott City, Md.) was successful on 12 of 26 shots he faced for the Buccaneers.

The Raiders will begin Great Northeast Athletic Conference play this Saturday afternoon as they host Lasell College in a 1pm contest at Raider Field. Massachusetts Maritime will also be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Emerson College.
