Amandra Purcell dominates on Senior Day

(Nashua, NH) On senior day in the Muldoon gymnasium Rivier College defeated Johnson & Wales University, 94-69 halting  their longest losing streak of the season at 2 games.

The Raiders (17-8 Overall, 11-2 GNAC) finish off their regular season strong behind their two seniors Amandra Purcell (Hudson, NH) and Chelsea Barker (Nashua, NH) who had a combined 32 points.  Once again the leading scorer for the Raiders was Deanna Purcell (Hudson, NH) with 23 points. Amandra Purcell was 6-9 behind the arch on senior day.

The Wildcats (10-15 Overall, 6-7 GNAC) had a strong performance from sophomore Jenna Juron (Bunrt Hills, NY) who led the team with 22 points and was 3 for 4 behind the arch. Freshman Natalie Dicocco (Media, PA) came off the bench and had 21 point and went 10 for 11 at the line. The Wildcats were led defensively by sophomore Samantha Hendrick (Castleton-On-Hudson, NY) who had 13 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

Finishing the season with their best record in Rivier history, the Raiders now look to the playoffs where they will be hosting the first round of the playoffs Tuesday (2/21).
